yum
I cooked Thanksgiving dinner again this year. And it was gooooood. Turkey, green bean casserole, scalloped potatoes, stuffing, lemon-ginger cheesecake.
I totally just ate scalloped potatoes and stuffing for breakfast.
Mmmmmm.

These little kimonos from the Mason-Dixon book knit up really quickly! I have enough yarn left over that I think I'll make a matching washcloth....
I had a happy accident when I accidentally grabbed the wrong size needles when I started the second kimono - I knit the watermelon on size 5s, and the cream on on 6s, so they're slightly different sizes. I really like to give baby gifts in a variety of sizes to accommodate a quickly growing little one, so this actually worked out quite well!
I really like the Shine Worsted from Knitpicks - I might make another Sitcom Chic out of it.
Now I'm off to buy cute matching ribbon for the kimonos! The baby shouldn't come any earlier than Sunday, so I'm right under the wire!
Wow - I can't believe I'm sitting here listening to George Allen concede the Virginia Senate race ......which means the Democrats will control the Senate. Which means the Democrats will control Congress. Wow.
I know living in New York City really skews my perspective on how the rest of the country feels about political issues, but after too many years waking up on election day with a sick feeling in my stomach, it just feels so damn good to know that other people actually feel the same way I do! (Where those people were in 2004 is another question, but I'll let it go.)
Anyway, no deep thoughts on this except to say that I feel slightly more hopeful about the future of this country than I did a couple of days ago.
Wow.
My friend Michael, he of the gigantic crocheted Olympic afghan, finished the New York City Marathon today in 3 hours and 17 minutes. (a mere 18 minutes behind Lance Armstrong!) Um, can I just say HOLY CRAP? The dude quilts, crochets, runs marathons, and bakes dairy-free desserts for us every Wednesday.....is there anything he can't do?
Congratulations Michael!
